Overview

We are seeking a reliable Night Support Worker who will be responsible for assisting the evening kitchen team; maintaining cleanliness and organization in the dining room and kitchen, preparing grab-and-go items, supporting morning breakfast prep, and assisting the Night Baker as required. This role requires strong independence, attention to detail, consistency, and commitment to maintaining the standards of Anja's Motel & Meals. All tasks must be completed in accordance with daily checklists, prep sheets, and food safety procedures.

Responsibilities

Greet coworkers and guests in a friendly and courteous manner. Assist evening staff with post-dinner cleanup, dishwashing, and general kitchen and dining room cleaning. Work independently using prep sheets, checklists, and written procedures. Follow all food safety, sanitation, labeling, and portioning guidelines. Communicate shortages, outdated product, or equipment issues to the General Manager or Night Baker. Clean and sanitize the tables, chairs, floors, and common areas. Restock, and sanitize the coffee station and beverage areas. Brew fresh coffee at designated times during the shift. Restock grab-and-go items and display cases; remove and record outdated items. Rotate, label, and refill fruits, vegetables, beverages, and condiments. Complete assigned deep-cleaning tasks and fryer maintenance as scheduled. Prepare sandwiches, cut produce, portion items, and complete basic nightly food prep. Prepare parfaits, bacon, hashbrowns, and other items required for breakfast service. Ensure prep tables, and ingredients are stocked, labeled, dated, and ready for the Night Baker. Complete tasks on the nightly "To-Do" sheet; assist with additional prep only if primary duties are completed. Assist the Night Baker with simple breakfast tasks such as preparing plates, toasting bread, and gathering supplies. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized workspace at all times. Attend team meetings and contribute to a positive kitchen environment. Perform other duties as assigned to support overall kitchen operations.

Requirements

Valid Canadian Driver's License, reliable vehicle, and cellphone. Previous experience in a commercial kitchen or camp environment preferred. Ability to work independently and stay focused during quiet periods. Reliable, self-motivated, and able to follow written instructions and checklists. Strong understanding of basic food safety and sanitation. Must have a valid FoodSafe or Food Handlers Certificate. Physically capable of lifting up to 30 lbs and working on your feet for extended periods. Must be fluent in English and comfortable using checklists and written procedures.
