Smitty\xe2\x80\x99s is one of Canada\xe2\x80\x99s largest all-day family restaurant chains, operating from coast to coast. Almost all our restaurants are fully licensed, and a majority have separate lounges to accommodate teams, sports fans, and the happy hour crowd. Smitty\xe2\x80\x99s is looking for a Kitchen Manager based out of Winnipeg. This candidate will ideally have 3 years of chef experience with 1 year in a similar management role.
Duties include (but are not limited to)
Management duties:
- Perform kitchen audits
- Assist in the opening of new locations
- Train all BOH positions
- Troubleshoot/assist with maintaining proper food costing
- Coach and train all staff on proper takeout and delivery practices
- Ongoing food development
- Menu changes and additions
- Development of new menu items
- Promotions (Burger Week, Poutine Week, etc.)
- Food quality improvements
- Feature and LTO development
- Work in conjunction with Smitty\xe2\x80\x99s Canada regional chef on new programs & recipes
- Participation in training videos
- Ensure all locations are following Smitty\xe2\x80\x99s Standards
- Facilitate ongoing training and rollout of new menus each quarter
Line Cook duties:
- Prep, portion, and stock food items and other necessary supplies
- Prepare specified food in a timely manner using safe food-handling methods
- Cook food items by grilling, frying, and sauteing to prescribed recipes and standards
- Maintain cleanliness and complies with food sanitation requirements
- Performs inventory checks and completes food storage logs
Requirements:
- Use of your own personal vehicle to travel between locations
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Must have valid food handler\xe2\x80\x99s certification
- 3 years of experience as a chef
- Open availability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Able to work well in a team environment
