About Us



We're a small, community-focused plant based cider house with a tight kitchen team and a strong commitment to consistency, quality, and warm hospitality. As we grow into a busy spring and even busier summer, we're looking for a

full-time, long-term Kitchen Lead

to guide our BOH operations while still being hands-on in daily service.

About the Role



This is a leadership role for someone who values standards, structure, and teamwork -- but also enjoys rolling up their sleeves and cooking on the line, dishwashing and prep work. You'll help maintain and elevate our existing kitchen systems, support training and development of BOH staff, and ensure smooth, efficient services. We welcome fresh eyes and new ideas while still respecting the systems that currently work.

Responsibilities



Lead daily BOH operations while still working on the line, jumping in dish, and prep Some days you are solo and leading yourself through the day with all tasks Assist with prep, dishes, and general kitchen duties when needed (small team environment) Uphold and refine kitchen standards, recipes, and systems Train, support, and guide kitchen staff for consistent execution Handle ordering, inventory counts, and monitoring par levels Support labour management Maintain food costing standards and reduce waste Collaborate with management on menu tweaks, systems improvements, and seasonal transitions Implement high standards of cleanliness Maintaining strong and healthy workplace team through constant communication

Requirements



Minimum 2 years of Shift Lead experience

OR3-4 years of strong line cook experience with a desire to grow -- we are happy to train the right person into the role Food Safe certification Proven ability to lead calmly and respectfully Strong communication and organizational skills Comfortable working both independently and within a small team Ability to follow and improve recipe systems Basic kitchen math and costing awareness References

Hours & Availability



Full-time position (30-35 hours)

Must be available from 3pm onwards on weekdays -- especially Fridays

Evenings & weekends required

More hours added during the busy spring and summer seasons

No crazy late nights or early mornings Initial pay will be based on knowledge and experience

Compensation & Benefits



Pay: $26-28/hr

Tips around $2-4/hr labour depending

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00-$28.00 per hour
