As a kitchen helper, you will ensure that the dough is made with accuracy following the recipe and that is stored according to our standards. The same applies to all the food that needs to be prepared and stored. Consistency and precision are key to ensure the products are prepared and ultimately served to our customers according to our standards. The ideal candidate has some experience preparing food / working in the food industry, is comfortable standing on their feet for long periods, lifting and moving 20/50 pounds at times and carrying out tasks at a fast pace with precision and safety. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, is proactive and willing to follow instructions and cooperate with the team.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Make the dough and sauce, slice meat, cut vegetables and all that is required to be prepared for the smooth operation of the store
- Make salads for customers when ordered by a customer/requested by the front of the house
- Help unpack and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards and other storage areas
- Maintain the workspace clean and organized, sweep and mop when required
- Sanitize and hand wash dishes and other items
- Clean and sanitize kitchen including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances and equipment
- Remove kitchen garbage and dispose of it in the dedicated area outside
- Operate according to the FoodSafety and health standards
- Ensure consistency in the dough making and food preparation
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
Requirements:
- Work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Be able to stand on your feet and endure in physical work for the length of the shift
- Lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Work in a fast-paced environment with a calm and collaborative attitude
- Ability to communicate in English
- Experience in the kitchen is required. Experience in making dough is an asset.
