Kitchen Support will assist with the preparation and cooking of all meals. Complete daily food prep, cleaning equipment, organizing food storage and coolers as directed by Kitchen Manager. Kitchen Support is committed to providing nutritious, healthy, high quality meal service to residents, staff, visitors, and volunteers. Maintain food programs in compliance with safety and employment laws. Reporting to the Kitchen Manager.

Last Door Recovery Society is a leader in fostering a community that inspires recovery.?Our mission is to provide therapeutic environments where individuals and families dealing with addiction issues can develop the necessary skills to live free in recovery. We offer long-term bed-based and outpatient treatment for men aged 19 and over, utilizing a Social Model treatment modality. Working Conditions:
Formal work hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexibility required to meet program functioning and client needs.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of cooking experience required.
Demonstrate knowledge of food quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation required.
Knowledge of methods and procedures for serving food, principles of sanitation, and principles of safe food handling required.
Ability to lift up to 50lb.
Effective communication skills.
Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
Highly effective teamwork skills.
The ability to read and follow cheat sheets
Attention to detail in all areas of work.
Superior time management skills, multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
Lived experience in recovery considered an asset
Demonstration of empathy and compassion for people in recovery.
Successfully complete and pass a Vulnerable Persons Criminal Record Check prior to initiating employment and annually thereafter.
