Da Enzo's Ristorante is looking for an energetic and reliable Kitchen Assistant to join our back-of-house team. This role involves helping with the assembly and preparation of dishes, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and assisting the the Chef during service.

This position plays an important role in ensuring our kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently. While experience in food preparation or the restaurant industry is an asset, it's not required -- we're happy to train the right person who has a positive attitude, good energy, and a willingness to learn. The successful candidate will help with assembling dishes, assisting the chef, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety.

Being able to hand-stretch pizza dough and use a pizza peel is a huge plus, but not required.

Duties

Assist the kitchen team with assembling dishes (ingredients and sauces are prepped in advance by the Chef). Cook dishes to order following simple recipes and direction from the Chef. Hand-stretch pizza dough and cook pizzas using a pizza peel (training provided). Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep and cooking areas. Stock and restock stations as needed during service. Follow all food safety and sanitation standards. Communicate effectively with the Chef and service staff to ensure smooth service.

Requirements

Proven experience in the restaurant or food service industry is preferred. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods. Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices for food handling. Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team-oriented environment. Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced setting.

Days/Hours

This is a split-shift position, typically working 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. The break between shifts (approximately 3 hours) is unpaid and meant for personal time. Hours can vary slightly by about 30 to 60 minutes depending on service needs. Because of the split schedule, having your own transportation or living nearby is important for convenience and reliability.

Pay: $17.60-$20.00 per hour
