About the Role



Springhouse is a plant-based restaurant in Halifax. We're looking for a reliable, hard-working team member to join our kitchen. This position combines dishwashing, prep cooking, and assisting cooks on the line during busy periods. It's a great fit for someone who enjoys a fast-paced kitchen and wants to build on their skills.

What You'll Do



Wash dishes and keep the kitchen clean and organized Prep vegetables, sauces, and other items according to recipes Track ingredients and ensure they remain stocked Assist line cooks during service as needed Learn and practice cooking line items under supervision Follow food safety and sanitation standards Work cooperatively with our kitchen and front-of-house teams

Schedule



This is a part-time role with

approximately 30-35 hours per week

. Shifts are primarily

Wednesday through Sunday

, including:

Midday prep shifts

on Wednesday and Thursday

Full service shifts

on Friday and Saturday (daytime into evening)

Sunday daytime

shifts (brunch/lunch service)

Weekend availability (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) is required and expected.

Exact start and end times may vary slightly depending on business needs, but applicants should be available during these days.

Positive attitude and willingness to jump in wherever needed Able to work on your feet in a fast-paced environment Basic knife skills or kitchen experience an asset

Reliability and punctuality are essential, especially on weekends
