What we need

Reporting to the Sous Chefs, the

Expeditor/Prep Cook

is responsible for facilitating kitchen orders, maintaining quality control and monitoring food safety. They will act as a liaison between the kitchen and wait staff, ensuring a steady workflow from kitchen to table. While this position is predominantly focused on expediting during the busy periods of the day, assisting with kitchen duties also plays a role. It is important to have some knowledge in restaurants to be truly successful in this role.

What you'll do

Maintains verbal communication between kitchen and waitstaff Check dishes before delivery for accuracy, consistency, presentation and temperature Conduct quality control checks on all food that is being sent out; refuse food not up the spec. Be eager & willing to lend a helping hand to guests and colleagues; Perform other related duties such as kitchen preparation, cleaning, and dish duties as assigned by the sous chef

Profile needed

Food handling certificate; Autonomy & strong organizational skills; Strong communications skills; Ability to handle fast paced demands and remain calm while under pressure Agile & strong problem solving abilities; Ability to be on your feet all day and stand in one spot for long periods of time 1 - 2 years experience in a high-volume kitchen, working on busy stations

When

You will work a varying schedule which requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holiday, full time position (40 hours/week).
