Overview
Our client in Kitchener is looking for a Kitchen Cook with 2-3 years of kitchen experience to join their team in a part-time role! A permanent position is available for the right person!
Hourly rate at $18.00/hour with an increase on permanent hire! 20-30 hours per week.
Job Requirements:
- 2-5 years of experience working in a kitchen is required
- Solid understanding of kitchen prep techniques, portioning and serving
- High School diploma is required as a minimum
- Valid Driver\'s License
- Valid Safe Food Handling Certificate & refresher required
- Prepares food to be cooked by washing, peeling and cutting as needed
- Prepares, portions and packages desserts and salads
- Prepares, soups, sauces, desserts according to standard recipes
- Hands on food preparation and presentation, adhering to quality standards
- Practices food safety by storing food according to food handling safety regulations
- Minimizes food waste
- Works as part of a team with kitchen staff to assemble and organize meals
- Assists with service on meal line
- Assists in putting any orders away and rotating stock
- Ensures the safe and proper use of the kitchen equipment in food production
- Ensures cleanliness of the kitchen area is upheld at the highest level at all times
