We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic kitchen team. The Kitchen Porter plays a vital role in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about the hospitality industry and eager to support food preparation and service in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization within the kitchen while assisting chefs and cooks as needed.

Responsibilities

Assist in food preparation by washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables or other ingredients as directed by the kitchen staff. Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas to ensure a safe and sanitary environment. Help with the cleaning of dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen items using appropriate cleaning methods. Support cooks and chefs in various tasks to facilitate efficient food service during busy periods. Ensure that all food handling practices adhere to health and safety regulations. Assist with inventory management by keeping track of supplies and notifying management when stock levels are low. Participate in maintaining a positive team atmosphere by communicating effectively with kitchen staff.

Requirements

Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not required. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to cleanliness and hygiene standards. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards. Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team setting. A passion for hospitality and willingness to learn about food preparation techniques. Knowledge of basic food handling practices is an advantage but can be taught on the job.
