Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. In this role, you will support the kitchen staff in food preparation and ensure that the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of meals by chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients as directed by the head cook or chef. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste properly. Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and notifying supervisors when supplies are low. Follow food safety guidelines to ensure all food is handled properly and hygienically. Support cooks during meal preparation by providing assistance as needed, including cooking tasks when required. Adhere to all health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment. Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to food handling and preparation.

Experience

Previous experience in a food service or restaurant environment is preferred but not mandatory. Familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools is an advantage. Knowledge of basic food preparation techniques and food safety standards is highly desirable. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn from experienced kitchen staff.
