Job RequirementsProficient in food preparation techniques and meal planning, with experience in the food industry preferred.
Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations related to food handling and service.
Ability to work efficiently in a kitchen environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail, particularly in managing kitchen supplies and inventory.
A passion for working with children and an understanding of their nutritional needs is essential.
Previous experience as a cook or in a similar role within a childcare or restaurant setting is advantageous.
Vulnerable Sector Police Check and up-to-date Immunizations
Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification
Food Handler Certification
Previous experience working with children infant to 6 years
Strong interpersonal & communication skills
Demonstrate skills in working effectively and respectfully in a team environment
Ability to stand for periods of time, bend down to a child's level, sit on the floor &/or crouch
Own transportation a must for grocery shopping and any additional food, diet
Prepare and cook balanced meals and snacks for children, adhering to dietary guidelines and nutritional standards.
Plan menus that cater to the diverse dietary needs of children, including allergies and preferences.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Manage food inventory, including ordering supplies and minimizing waste through efficient meal preparation.
Collaborate with childcare staff to create a positive mealtime experience that encourages healthy eating habits.
Ensure proper food handling techniques are followed at all times to maintain food safety standards.
Responsible for adhering to Public Health and Ministry of Education guidelines
Experience cooking in a large setting required
Responsible for all kitchen documentation
Review and understand all information concerning medical conditions (including Anaphylactic Emergency Plans), medical requirements, exceptionalities, allergies, food restriction and parental preferences in respect to diet, exercise and rest time
Cook in big quantity
Deliver food to our nearly location
