WHAT THE JOB LOOKS LIKE:
At the Fraser Valley Child Development Centre our Key Workers work alongside families of children and youth who have been diagnosed with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome or a Complex Developmental Behavioural Condition. Key Workers receive additional training in the specialized area of neuro-behavioural development. Key Workers support families to better understand the needs of their children and youth and help them to advocate for their children with external services such as schools and doctors. Key Workers also help families to navigate services and find resources that will help children and youth while supporting their development. Key Workers are there to provide support to parents through education, help navigating, supportive advocating, and strengthening family relationships, specific to the needs of each child or youth.
Bachelors in Social Work, Child and Youth Care or equivalent
Minimum 3 years experience working in the field of pediatric disabilities
Training and experience in working with families under stress and in crisis
Valid BC driver's license with reliable use of a car for work
