Key Accounts Manager - Licensing, Agriculture, Crop Science

The Key Account Manager Licensing will report to and work with the Director of Key Accounts in developing, communicating, and executing sales targets and marketing initiatives to support strategic direction with Seed Partners to support Bayer Canada sales objectives for Licensing Traits, Germplasm, Seed treatments, and when applicable, support Bayer Crop Protection products and Climate FieldView with Licensing customers. The goal of managing these working relationships with Seed Partners is to ensure strong communication with customers and understanding the market to optimize the Bayer share of shelf with each customer.

This is a permanent, home-based position based out of either Ontario or Quebec and includes travel.

What you will do:

  • Working with sales, product management, marketing and market development teams, implement strategic customer direction and programming with Seed Partner accounts that support Seed Partner growth aspirations and maximize Bayer share and profitability for Bayer\'s Trait, Germplasm and Crop Protection products
  • Professionally represent and build effective working relationships for Bayer with Seed Partner management teams
  • Work closely with sales and marketing teams to incorporate Seed Partner needs into Bayer programming to maximize Seed Partner commitment
  • Develop / monitor Seed Partner sales forecasts & commitments that support Bayer revenue targets for Traits, Germplasm royalties and Crop Protection and Climate FieldView targets
  • Design, implement and evaluate customer relationship building events that strengthen Seed Partner loyalty, enhance business interaction and make Bayer a preferred supplier
  • Work with SeedGrowth team to understand seed treatment (Acceleron and other products) opportunities with Seed Partners including Seed Treatment equipment and customer treating
  • Represent Bayer at all Seeds Canada / ASTA meetings / conferences where appropriate
  • Timely communication to all relevant Bayer personnel of customer / market information to enhance achievement of sales objectives trends, competitive trends, etc.
  • Work closely with Licensing Operations manager to ensure Seed Partners are compliant with licensing contracts / obligations
  • Maintain an appropriate firewall for Seed Partners from the commercial business.
Who you are:
  • B.A / B.Sc Business of Agriculture or related discipline (additional advanced degree is an asset)
  • Strong knowledge of the Canadian seeds business in Canada for key crops offered by the Canadian Licensing Division: Corn, Soybean and Canola
  • 8/+ years of business experience involved in sales, marketing, and contract negotiations
  • Experienced in developing marketing product strategies for a specific region
  • proven examples of identifying what to improve, driving positive results
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written to drive strong relationships with customers and internal teams
  • Able to travel approx. 30% of the year plus regular road travel
  • Possess a driver\'s license in good-standing
  • French English Bilingual is an asset
