Position Description:

Achieve maximum profitable sales of Elanco products in the assigned geography with full coverage of all targeted Key Accounts through value added partnership. A KAM represents the complete Elanco portfolio, through one-on-one sales conversations, group discussions, contract negotiations and key account plan execution. KAM is responsible for both internal and external team communication and coordination.

Minimum Qualification (education, experience and/or training, required certifications):

  • BS Degree or equivalent relevant experience (Animal Health or Business background)
  • 5 years Sales/Sales Management Experience
  • Empathy and passion for the animal health business.
  • Demonstrated business acumen and results driven profile.
  • Demonstrated success in persuasion, influence and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and apply technical/scientific knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal, written and interpersonal.
  • Organizational skills and time management skills.
  • Strong sense of personal accountability.
  • Ability to develop long-term business relationships.
  • Flexible to learning new products and diseases over time.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Evening/Weekend programs with customers occur regularly.
  • English\xe2\x80\x94written and verbal.
  • French \xe2\x80\x93 written and verbal \xe2\x80\x93 is a requirement for regional Key Account Manager East role.
  • Hybrid work (60% remote 40% in field).
Functions, Duties, Tasks:
  • Attain sales objectives through creating and executing key account plans for targeted key accounts, based on the SAM/KAM account planning model
  • Provide leadership and support to district sales managers and sales reps associated with indirectly targeted key accounts under corporate, management group and co-operative group structures.
  • Constantly leading demand realization which contributes to delivering customer value and increasing our overall business results.
  • Work directly with targeted key account clinic teams, including regional/field operations directors, to identify needs and solutions that will result in improved hospital operations, as well as greater loyalty and growth of the Elanco portfolio.
  • Work closely with KAM team lead to coordinate seminars and activities with outside Specialists and Consultants to meet objectives of agreed upon annual account plan.
  • Work with Elanco Sales and Technical teams to ensure clear alignment of sales goals and objectives for accounts under KAM control.
  • Work closely with marketing to identify customers\' needs and create materials or utilize current materials for specific projects
  • Support a collaborative team environment by managing communication and account expectations with Sales, Technical and other colleagues associated with assigned accounts.
  • Exhibits Technically proficiency for all Elanco products and be knowledgeable about competitive products in regional market;
  • Demonstrates trade-show etiquette and participates in exhibitions and Company meetings, as required. Engages show attendees and represents the Company in a professional manner.
  • Manage account forecasts/projections, sales budgets, expenses and promotional budgets and tracks expenses to control costs and operate within targeted goals;
  • Meet Key Account Sales Force Excellence metrics.
  • Disciplined reporting of all call reports, territory intelligence and customer information within designed CRM.
  • Responsible for reporting any Suspected Adverse Events (sAEs) to the Pharmacovigilance Team
Additional Preferences:
  • Experience with performance management, succession planning and channel partner development.
  • Advanced degree in business or work experience as business consultant are both positive attributes.
  • Master\'s Degree preferred
