Position: Key Account Manager

Job Type: Full Time

Schedule: Monday-Friday

Language Requirements: French and English

Working Conditions: Remote (while classified as remote, incumbent will be required to attend in-person meetings in Montreal when assigned by management)

Location: Montreal, QC

Purpose:

Responsible for planning, developing, and implementing sales & marketing activities to increase market share in key accounts. Directs strategic planning, communicates goals and objectives to Company personnel, and oversees the activities of Field Sales Representatives related to key accounts. Ensures operational plans are effectively implemented.

Tracks revenue goals and contribution margins, oversees budget, and completes reporting requirements as scheduled. Meets or exceeds goal expectations and ensures that professional relations exist with resellers, third party suppliers, and external contacts. Keeps Senior Management well informed of area operations.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Focuses on all category management and responds in a timely manner to all opportunities to present new and existing product lines to customers.
  • Prepares and executes business reviews for key accounts that includes short, mid and long term goals for brand building including presentation of key account business reviews.
  • Forecasts customers period sales and outlines key drivers/opportunities for profit or topline losses.
  • Drafts, executes and tracks customer business plans through detailed building blocks.
  • Manages Approved Product List, including additions & deletions, promotions, and EDI price file maintenance.
  • Follows through on key account plans & objectives with reaching budgeted net sales and cost objectives.
  • Oversees budget analyses and reporting, measures progress toward established goals and communicates results to appropriate personnel.
  • Communicates effectively of all programs with field sales team along with timely communication of business needs and opportunities to key sales.
  • Interacts closely with marketing, sales, finance and all other internal customer(s).
  • Provides industry, economic and competitive information to assist in developing sales and marketing programs, merchandising decisions, distribution strategies, and training processes.
  • Prospects for new business opportunities to expand market share.
  • Ensures that sales and marketing plans, goals, and policies are consistent with established Company-wide goals.
  • Ensures that Field Sales Representatives are well-informed of operations and are contacted & updated as necessary. Follows up to ensure sales and marketing plans are implemented effectively.
  • Submits accurate, timely, and complete reports to management as scheduled. Ensures that reports and records are accessible and meaningful for decision making processes.
  • Maintains excellent customer relations. Meets or exceeds client expectations and established deadlines.
  • Cultivates and fosters team building and cooperation, and motivates team members to achieve goals and further career development.
  • Provides assistance and support as needed.
  • Performs other job duties as required.
Qualifications:

Education/Certification:
  • Post-Secondary Education in Business, Management, Marketing or a related field, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
Experience:
  • Minimum three (3) years managing conventional key accounts and related processes.
  • Previous experience managing categories, a trade spend budget, promotional calendar, and planogram resets.
  • Previous experience managing key accounts within the organic/natural consumer-packaged goods industry an asset.
Knowledge:
  • Strong knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required (Excel, Powerpoint, Word).
Skills & Abilities:
  • Bilingual in English and French (oral/written).
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, be well organized, motivated, and recognize & support UNFI\xe2\x80\x99s philosophy.
  • Excellent public relations and presentation skills.
  • Works well independently and in a team environment.
  • Possesses good accounting and business math skills.
