Job Description

At Too Good To Go, we are on a mission to inspire and empower everyone to fight food waste together. As the world\'s largest food waste-fighting app, we connect stores that have unsold, surplus food with consumers like yourself, who can purchase the surplus food for a third of the price, while saving it from being thrown away. Being part of the team at Too Good To Go means having the unique opportunity to work in a social impact company (and certified B Corp) with a strong team culture; where learning together is encouraged and successes are celebrated together!

This role is a 14-month contract position beginning June 12, 2023.

Your mission

You will play a pivotal role in the growth of Too Good To Go by using your experience in the food service and retail industry to optimize and grow existing partnerships with prominent quick service restaurants and food retailers. You will also support the business development activities of the team, including preparing for pitches, presenting to prospects, and executing pilot launches.

Your role

Your primary responsibility is to strengthen and build our relationships with important existing key accounts (KAs) in the food service section. You will work with their stakeholders, building trust and rapport with them, while looking for opportunities to expand our commercial partnership, and get their business more involved in the food waste movement. Reporting to the Key Account Team Lead, you will work closely with colleagues in our Partner Success team to ensure the successful onboarding of new stores and delivery of training to staff, and collaborate with other KA team members, as well as colleagues across marketing, tech, and independent sales.

In addition to supporting current partners, you will also be responsible for developing relationships with new KA Partners. Business development responsibilities will include researching the right stakeholders and decision makers to approach, curating customized outreach materials (emails, LinkedIn messages, 1-pagers), securing pitch meetings, and ultimately pitching and closing new KA partnerships.

The role will include:

  • Account Management of key chains: autonomy in managing your own portfolio of chains, ensuring the relationship is strong and business KPIs are met
  • Account Growth: developing strategies to grow and optimize your accounts and working with the retailer to increase store coverage and overall supply
  • Pitching: creating and delivering high quality, professional presentations to potential partners, and confidently speak about the business and food waste proposition
  • Proactive business development and relationship building: independently and proactively keep in touch with stakeholders and decision-makers within your accounts
  • Research: independently search for new opportunities, learn about the businesses in depth, map the stakeholders and understand their decision-making process
  • Supporting roll outs: working with the team and the retailer to plan, schedule and execute store rollouts at scale
  • Planning and forecasting: building reports to track performance and identify trends, create financial projections and forecasts for internal planning and commercial proposals
  • Contributing to the Key Account strategy and supporting international cooperation across global key chain opportunities.
  • Movement: working with Marketing to embed the Movement into our partnerships
Requirements
  • Solid commercial sales experience working in the food service industry. The candidate should have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the Canadian food service industry.
  • Account Management experience, demonstrating an ability to build rapport, establish trust, deepen relationships, and grow business
  • Excellent commercial acumen
  • You\'re a master communicator, you know when to speak, you know how to listen, and you know how to engage a whole room and keep their attention
  • A passion for the mission and raising awareness of food waste & sustainability
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently and efficiently
  • Ability to lead negotiations skillfully, and create and deliver high impact pitches
  • Data Analysis and MS Excel skills to use raw data to create performance reports and projections to identify and understand trends, opportunities and issues.
Our Values:
  • We win together: We can only achieve our mission if we win together, guided by our common vision, not our egos.
  • We raise the bar: We have high expectations for what we do and we want to deliver excellence.
  • We keep it simple: Our ambitions are bold but our solutions are simple.
