DescriptionThe Edmonton Christmas Kettle Campaign Assistant position is a short-term contract position to support volunteer engagement during the Christmas Kettle Campaign.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with various organizational tasks related to preparing for the Christmas Kettle Campaign including contacting and organizing volunteers and kettle locations, obtaining appropriate relevant paperwork from Territorial Headquarters (THQ), revising promotional materials related to the Christmas Kettle Campaign, and preparing kettle stands and kettle kits for the Christmas Kettle Campaign.
  • Posting approved social media content related to the Christmas Kettle Campaign to the social media accounts of the Community Resource Center (CRC).
  • Assisting other Christmas Kettle employees with daily tasks during the Christmas Kettle Campaign, including setting up and taking down kettle locations, contacting kettle volunteers, and refilling kettle kits with supplies.
  • Support the recruitment process for the Christmas Kettle Campaign volunteers including:
  • Contacting past volunteers and groups to fill Kettle Campaign shifts.
  • Recruiting new volunteers and groups to fill Kettle Campaign shifts.
  • Using Better Impact software to manage volunteer engagement.
  • Provide support and supervision to Christmas Kettle Area Team Leads during the Campaign.
  • Performs other position-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:*NOTE: For some jobs, you may be required to provide validated educational documentation.Experience:\xc2\xb7 Working with volunteers\xc2\xb7 Working or volunteering in a position with leadership responsibilities\xc2\xb7 Working in a fast paced environmentPREFERRED SKILLS/CAPABILITIES:\xc2\xb7 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills\xc2\xb7 Strong customer service skills; enjoy liaising and working with people of all ages and abilities\xc2\xb7 Good decision making, organizational and leadership skills\xc2\xb7 Willingness to be flexible and work well under pressure with daily timelines and changing priorities\xc2\xb7 Self-motivation\xc2\xb7 Strong service ethic\xc2\xb7 Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in the handling of donor, volunteer and organizational information\xc2\xb7 Respect and understanding of the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army\xc2\xb7 Valid driver\'s license and a reliable vehicle required\xc2\xb7 Access to email and cellular phone required (allowance provided)\xc2\xb7 Able to lift 9 to 12 kgs (20 - 25 lbs)Successful candidates, prior to hiring, will be required to provide:
