About the Position
As the US Junior Tax Specialist, you'll work closely with our clients to calculate their tax liabilities including preparing tax returns. This role will enable you to leverage your advanced mathematical and analytical expertise to interpret and manage complex tax data. You will develop your technical competancies in this role and you will also develop solid working relationships with your team members and clients.
Summary of Responsibilities
Calculate taxable income and income tax due based on financial information provided with guidance from managers
Analyze client provided information as it relates to US income tax rules and regulations
Prepare US federal and state corporate and partnership income tax returns with guidance from managers
Perform basic federal and state tax research with a view toward understanding the issues.Communicate tax matters to clients
Assist in resolvie tax disputes with US federal and state tax agencies on behalf of clients
Collaborate with team members and clients to build meaningful relationships
Provide quality deliverables in a timely manner
Seek continuous professional development
Summary of Experience
IRS Enrolled Agent or US CPA designation is an asset
Requirements:
College or University degree, with major in accounting preferred.
Completion of US CPA or working towards completion.
Exposure to US tax compliance and basic knowledge of general taxation as obtained through course work and/or work experience are considered an asset but not mandatory.
An ability to display quick thinking, adaptability, and astute thinking skills to handle all tasks and problems as they may arise.
A strong passion to grow a career in this industry with a specific interest in US Tax.
Strong written and oral communication abilities, interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment,
Good analytical and organizational skills.
Ability to work with tight deadlines.
Proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook.
