In this role, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of VOIP telephone systems, copper/fiberoptic/Wi-Fi networks, access control, CCTV, RF booster, and emerging communication technologies, all in a supportive environment while providing the reliable vital service for which we're known.

Responsibilities (include and not limited to)



Assist senior technicians with installing, configuring, and maintaining telecommunications infrastructure, systems, and equipment Working as "smart hands" with and on behalf of IT companies both local and remote Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on network cabling, data racks, including routers, switches, cables, and telephone systems Support and ultimately master system design, physical cabling topology, and device configuration to ensure reliability and optimal performance in our deployments Collaborate with internal team members to identify, triage and resolve technical issues and service calls quickly and effectively Provide end-user support for our deployed systems Maintain accurate records of customer communications, work completed, materials installed/consumed, and time spent Stay up to date on industry trends and new technologies, actively exploring improvements to strengthen our telecom offerings and value to our clients

Requirements



An associate degree or technical certification in telecommunications or networking is an asset but not required Valid Class 5 BC driver's license with a clean abstract Ability to pass a criminal record check (required for work at secure client sites) Eagerness to build a career in the ever-evolving field of telecommunications. Basic understanding of wired/wireless/VOIP telephone systems and their related equipment Familiarity with basic network components such as routers, switches, patch panels and rack-mounted devices is an asset Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Solid communication skills for calmly interacting with colleagues and clients in sometimes stressful situations such as outages Time-management skills and tools to maintain efficiency and meet timeline commitments Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to handle overlapping responsibilities Willingness to learn, adapt, and grow with emerging technologies Working at Heights - Mandatory

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
