Junior Software Developer

Toronto, ON, CA, Canada

Job Description

About Zero Collective

Zero Collective is a Canadian membership service that lets people rent designer handbags from houses like Chanel, Dior, Celine, Gucci, and more, making luxury more

accessible, affordable, and sustainable

through a circular model. The company launched in Canada with tiered memberships (Classic and Deluxe) and 30-day rentals you can swap or extend, reflecting a shift toward mindful consumption.

Members choose a plan (Classic at

$159/month

, Deluxe at

$229/month

) and can exchange after

30 days

; all items are authenticated and insured for normal wear.

The role

We're opening this role to

junior developers and recent CS/SE grads

who have

great design taste

and are excited to

ship real features quickly

using

low-code

tools, specifically

Bubble.io

(we'll help train you). You'll help build and improve member-facing flows (onboarding, checkout, account) and light internal tools (inventory status, shipping/returns coordination), working closely with product, design, and ops.

If you haven't used Bubble before, that's okay. Bubble is a visual, no-code platform for building full-stack web apps with databases, workflows, and APIs. We'll support you to ramp fast.

What you'll do

Own Bubble builds end-to-end:

data structures, workflows, privacy rules, responsive UI, and performance tuning.

Member experience:

onboarding/application screens, waitlist logic, plan selection, bag discovery/search, checkout, and account management. (Membership tiers & 30-day rental model inform these flows.)

Subscriptions & payments:

implement and maintain recurring billing, promos/coupons, refunds/credits, webhooks, and dunning (e.g., Stripe).

Inventory & operations tooling:

internal dashboards for bag lifecycle (intake, authentication status, availability), shipping/returns coordination, and issue resolution. (Authentication and shipping are core to the service.)

Integrations:

connect third-party services via Bubble API Connector (payments, email, analytics, shipping/courier, identity/verification).

Quality & observability:

set up logging, alerts, and repeatable QA checks; write concise documentation for workflows and data models.

Iterate quickly:

validate with real users; partner with design to keep UI polished and on-brand.
Who you are (junior/early-career)

New grad or near graduation

in CS/SE (or equivalent experience via projects/hackathons).

Strong visual/design sense:

you sweat spacing, typography, hierarchy; you can show this via a

portfolio, Figma files, or shipped UI work

. Curious about

low-code

and

product velocity

; you like getting real features in users' hands quickly. Comfortable with

web fundamentals

(HTML/CSS/JS concepts),

REST/JSON

, and reading API docs. Clear communicator who documents decisions and asks great questions.
Nice to have

Any prior

Bubble

work (links/screenshots welcome). Exposure to

Stripe

or other subscriptions/payments, basic analytics (GA4, pixels), or shipping APIs. Logistics/marketplace experience (inventory availability, reservations, shipping/returns).
What we offer

Mission-driven work making designer fashion more

accessible and sustainable

in Canada. Competitive compensation, benefits, and real ownership over product areas. Hybrid flexibility in

Toronto

with a collaborative, design-forward team.
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00-$40.00 per hour

Application question(s):

Can you share your portfolio, and/or a project that you're particularly proud of? Extra points for great design taste.
Experience:

bubble.io: 1 year (preferred)
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Toronto, ON M4W 3H1
