Summary

Job Title: Junior Purchasing Clerk

Location: Tumbler Ridge, BC.

Schedule / Terms of Employment: This is a full time, permanent position (40 hours per week)

Primary Purpose

The primary purpose of a junior purchasing clerk is to handle administrative tasks and facilitate the procurement process, ensuring the timely and accurate acquisition of goods and services.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the preparation and updating of purchase orders
  • Managing and maintaining the rental tracker, ensuring accuracy through collaboration with site contacts and vendors
  • Expediting outstanding orders and closing completed orders
  • Coordinating with maintenance and vendors to secure delivery dates
  • Obtaining and comparing multiple quotes for materials to ensure competitive pricing
  • Creating and tracking returns as requested by the sites
  • Resolving purchasing problems and addressing issues in a timely manner
  • Collaborating with end users to ensure timely delivery of parts and services
  • Updating the ERP purchasing and inventory control modules
  • Ensuring the timely close-out of Purchase Orders in accordance with terms and conditions
  • Following Conuma policies when working with vendors and negotiating commercial terms
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality in all aspects of the role
  • Assisting with any additional duties assigned to support the purchasing function as a Junior Purchasing Clerk
Skills and Abilities
  • Computer skills include use of Microsoft Software packages, with better than average competence in spread sheets and relational database programs
  • Must be proficient in the use of ERP systems and Warehouse Management Systems
Qualifications and Experience
  • High School Diploma
  • 2-5 years in Data Entry or procurement role
  • Experience in the Accounts Payable and Procurement
