Position Details

The Junior Property Examiner will be responsible for to ensure commercial and personal property claims are properly investigated, evaluated, and resolved within the company\'s contractual, regulatory and legal obligations, while ensuring timely service, fair treatment of customers and appropriate claim payments. This is a national level role.

What You Will Do

• Investigation, evaluation, and settlement of claims of low to moderate complexity through methods of direct handling and claims examining
• Proactive identification, optimization and coordination of pre-loss recovery opportunities, identification of potential sources of recovery and ensure salvage and subrogation opportunities are identified and pursued to minimize claim losses
• Document claim files with appropriate particulars of claim and claim handling adhering to claim documentation standards with respect to analysis, reserve, and settlement rationale
• Process payments (or denials) in accordance with established authority levels, policy conditions, guidelines, and service levels of the Company within the claims systems
• Prepare reports to management and reinsurers that accurately reflect loss development, potential/actual financial exposure, coverage issues and claim and recovery strategies.

Who You Are

• Minimum 1-3 years\' personal and commercial property claims handling experience
• University degree or college diploma is preferred
• CIP designation or working towards is an asset
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical, organization and time management skills
• Strong and effective negotiation skills.
