Marid Industries Limited is seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Junior Project Manager to join our team! This is an exciting full-time opportunity for an individual to join our growing team. As part of the Infrastructure team you will work alongside our production, purchasing, and finance teams to ensure we meet project deadlines and deliver exceptional client service.
The Junior Project Manager will support the upcoming MacDonald Bridge rehabilitation project in the planning, administration, communication, and technical management to ensure the safe, efficient and effective completion of the project. In this role the incumbent will be responsible for orchestrating the timely and efficient completion of projects in a fast-paced work environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provides initial client contact to assess the scope of work.
• Engages resources to successfully complete projects on specified timelines.
• Reviews estimates/ tender documents.
• Collaborates with engineering to review drawings for value-added engineering and safety compliance.
• Communicates schedule to contractor and ensures effective communication and planning takes place where discrepancies may exist.
• Ensures that materials are ordered to meet project schedules, coordinates deliveries with the logistics team.
• Handles the receiving of all information related to the project.
• Estimates and price changes to contracts, site instructions, contemplated change orders, vouchers, etc.
• Reviews jobs on completion (costs and hours) and performs post-mortem reports.
• Reviews and assists in the preparation of reports as required for administrative, safety, human resources (WCB, incident reports).
• Monitors subcontractors' work to ensure compliance with company standards, policies and procedures, safety and quality programs; ensures sub-contractors documentation requirements are completed.
• Manages and monitors project budget, keeps records of any additional necessary costs.
• Plays an active role in contributing to site safety by proactively contributing to initiatives for the ongoing prevention and elimination of accidents and incidents in the workplace.
Working Conditions:
• This role is required to regularly visit construction sites, work outdoors and may be exposed to inclement weather conditions.
• This role is expected to work at heights when visiting bridge sites.
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education: Degree in Engineering and/or Construction Administration Program from a recognized educational institution, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
• Extensive 5 years industry related experience or training specific to erection of steel (Ironwork), bridge construction, or similar heavy civil experience; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Construction Project Management experience in a similar field would be considered an asset.
• Safety training in Leadership for Safety Excellence, PLC and or COR is considered an asset.
• PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification is an asset.
Skills:
• Proven experience managing projects from start to finish
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities; Stakeholder management and engagement.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies.
• A track record of meeting project deadlines and staying within budget.
• Working knowledge of MS Office programs (excel, outlook, word, teams)
• Familiarity with contract administration and the structural steel industry would be considered an asset.
• Experience working in the Manufacturing/ Construction industry is an asset
• Ability to work at heights to support bridge work.
