Role Summary
The
Junior Project Coordinator - Change Management
supports the Project Management and Site Execution teams by coordinating, documenting, and tracking change events on active construction projects. This role is ideal for candidates with a technical background in engineering, drafting, estimating, or construction trades who are looking to build hands-on experience in project controls, contract administration, and change management within a General Contractor environment.
Under the guidance of the Project Manager, this role helps ensure that changes to the base contract are clearly communicated, properly documented, accurately priced, and efficiently progressed from identification through approval and execution.
Key Responsibilities
Change Intake & Documentation
Assist with managing RFIs, design updates, client directives, and other changes impacting the base contract
Support documentation of change scope and creation of Change Events in Procore
Subcontractor Support & RFQs
Assist with issuing RFQs to subcontractors through Procore for identified Change Events
Communicate scope details, response requirements, and deadlines as directed
Track subcontractor responses and follow up to support timely and complete submissions
Technical Review & Cost Support
Review subcontractor pricing submissions for completeness and alignment with requested scope
Assist with basic quantity checks, scope comparisons, and cost breakdown reviews
Identify and flag inconsistencies, missing information, or scope concerns for review by the Project Manager
Internal Coordination
Maintain regular communication with the Project Manager and Site Execution teams to understand site conditions, sequencing, and schedule impacts
Support alignment between proposed changes and site realities
Client Change Preparation
Assist in assembling PCO packages, including narratives, pricing summaries, and supporting documentation
Ensure submissions meet required formats and documentation standards prior to client issuance
Tracking & Reporting
Maintain accurate change logs and trackers, including RFQ status, approval status, and cost impacts
Support internal and client-facing change management reporting and forecasting
Execution Handoff Support
Assist with communicating approved changes to the site team once client approval is received
Help ensure scope clarity for execution in alignment with approved pricing and schedules
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma or degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Estimating, Drafting, or a related technical field
Practical experience in construction, estimating, drafting, or site operations is an asset
Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and basic cost breakdowns
Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Familiarity with Procore or similar construction management software is an asset
Ability to manage multiple change items in a fast-paced project environment
