MRG Live, Festivals & Events is seeking an experienced Junior Producer to join this award winning team.
As Junior Producer, you will lead the planning and execution of assigned events, working closely with the core events team and reporting to the Director. Projects in Western Canada include National Indigenous Peoples Day, Car Free Day Surrey, Khatsahlano Street Party, Metro Vancouver & TransLink at the PNE, Flats Fest, Car Free Day initiatives and Is Funny Festival. The Junior Producer will also provide organizational support to the MRG Live in Eastern Canada as we work to build a Toronto based Festivals & Events team.

Key Responsibilities
Oversee the event timeline, production schedules, task lists, and workback schedules
Manage and track assigned project budgets, and collaborate with the accounting team
Arrange and attend client meetings, site surveys, and prepare presentations and meeting agendas.
Prepare contracts for municipal clients and event partners, and assist with permit applications (e.g., liquor licenses, venue permits).
Coordinate with operations and production teams to ensure all event deliverables are executed
Manage logistics for event transportation, parking, loading zones, street closures
Handle invoicing, payments, talent deposits, and manage cheque requisitions
Maintain client relations and ensure effective communication with all stakeholders, both internal and external.
Develop contingency plans for potential event issues (e.g., weather, power failure).
Oversee the resolution of any conflicts between subcontractors, interest groups, and artists, ensuring the best outcomes for both the client and the company
Prepare post-production reports and recommend improvements for future projects.
Assist with calendar management, arranging meetings, and performing other administrative tasks as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
2-4 years experience as an event manager/producer in large-scale event planning
Experience managing project team members and contractors
Excellent client relations and management skills
Proven ability to successfully manage large project budgets
Experienced and comfortable working with G Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Calendar etc.)
Highly organized, able to manage competing priorities and maintain attention to detail
Excellent communication skills, fostering strong relationships
Growth & entrepreneurial mindset and desire to take initiative
Understanding of event permitting, insurance and risk management is an asset
Understanding of sponsorship relationships in the context of event environments
Certificate in event planning, hospitality management, project management or event production considered an asset
Experience working with government clients, boards, committees, or stakeholder experience an asset
Ability to lift 50lb and stand for long periods
Class 5 Drivers License & access to a vehicle is required
