Role Summary:
We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a
Junior
Material Handler
. This role supports the logistical and operational needs of our Motive Power division, including inventory management, procurement coordination, and warehouse organization. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment, demonstrates strong organizational skills, and takes pride in maintaining efficient material flow to support field operations and equipment maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate inventory levels through regular monitoring and audits
Ensure timely procurement of materials to prevent delays in production
Work with vendors and suppliers to source high-quality materials at competitive prices
Track and expedite orders to meet production timelines
Coordinate material flow to various departments based on project needs
Prioritize distribution of materials for critical and time-sensitive tasks
Maintain accurate records of material orders, deliveries, and usage
Generate reports on inventory status, shortages, and forecasts
Ensure materials meet all quality and safety standards
Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and dispatching goods
Organize warehouse layout to maximize efficiency in storage and retrieval
Ensure adherence to SOPs and contribute to the development of new procedures as needed
Coordinate regular inspections and maintenance of warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks)
Prepare outgoing materials for shipment, ensuring correct labeling and packaging
Coordinate logistics to ensure timely delivery of goods
Promote and enforce workplace safety practices
Ensure warehouse operations align with industry and company standards
Skills and Qualifications:
Experience in material and warehouse coordination, preferably in a heavy-duty equipment or industrial setting
Proficiency in inventory management and ERP systems
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to lead, coordinate, and motivate team members
Excellent communication and vendor negotiation skills
Familiarity with heavy-duty equipment parts and related materials (asset)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and inventory management software
