Junior Maintenance technician is a member of the Maintenance Team reporting directly to the Maintenance Lead or the Plant Manager. Under limited direction is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the plant, building and yard equipment.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Ensuring the quality and safety of all products produced
Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot and repair equipment
Repair equipment to keep production running
Repair equipment in the labs to ensure the lab testing samples continue to run
Repair anything around the building and yard to ensure Neova is fully functioning
Conduct preventative maintenance programs - complete maintenance checks and associated paperwork
Communicate with co-workers on the scheduling of repairs and the status of equipment repairs
Collect parts and supplies, as required
Complete Quality Assurance (QA) paperwork
Conduct tests to ensure health and safety regulations are met
Qualifications:
High school education - Grade 12
Enrolled or completed an apprenticeship program , e.g., electrical/millwright or other relevant trade with 1-2 years of experience
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, pumps, and motors
Skills Required:
Self-starter with a strong work ethic, motivation, and flexibility.
Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication abilities.
Basic welding skills.
Attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Experience:
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Junior Maintenance technician, preferably in a food industrial or manufacturing setting.
Standards & Expectations:
In depth knowledge and understanding of the operations department
Follow procedures and standards determined.
Timely reporting to Plant Manager and daily communication with production team.
Ability to work in a team and independently.
Work with minimal supervision
Supervisory Responsibilities:
There are no direct supervisory responsibilities for this position.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
Frequently sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, eye/hand/foot co-ordination
Exposed to a noisy/vibrating/hazardous environment
Required vision - distance and ability to see colour
Required to consistently lift up to 18-22.7 kgs (40-50 lbs)
