Job Overview


We are seeking a lawyer with 1 to 3 years experience who is motivated to build their practice in the area of family law litigation and mediation. This is a valuable opportunity for a junior associate to gain hands-on experience working on a wide range of family law matters in a supportive and collaborative environment.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their litigation and negotiation skills. We are looking for someone who is empathetic, organized, and committed to advocating for clients during challenging times in their lives.

Key Responsibilities



Represent clients in family law matters, including separation, divorce, parenting, child and spousal support, and property division. Draft court pleadings, affidavits, agreements, and other legal documents. Appear at the Alberta Court of Justice and Court of King's Bench for litigation tips. Attend mediations and arbitrations. Provide sound legal advice to clients in a clear, compassionate, and professional manner. Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda and opinions. Manage client files from start to finish under the guidance of senior lawyers. Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure timely and high-quality service delivery.

Qualifications



Member in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta. 1 to 3 years of post-call experience in family law or general litigation (family law experience preferred). Strong written and oral advocacy skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple files and deadlines. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. A client-centered approach with professionalism and discretion.

Pay: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
