Wood is currently recruiting a Junior Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to work in our St. John's office on large scale brownfield offshore energy projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to all phases of engineering projects from concept to design, construction and commissioning
  • Perform detailed design of Instrumentation and Control Systems drawings (Cause and Effects, Loop Diagrams, Technical Specifications, Datasheets, etc.)
  • Perform Control Systems software and hardware detailed design including modification/creation of control system I/O, logic, databases and GUI
  • Perform specification, sizing, and selection for various types of Instrumentation components
  • Liaison with third party contractors and vendors in the procurement of materials and equipment
  • Vendor Package Management for the procurement of Instrumentation and Controls Equipment including developing Package Specifications and supplier document register lists (SDRL's), review and acceptance of vendor documentation and attending Factory Acceptance Testing
  • Ensuring project schedules and client approved budgets are managed and met
  • Preparing detailed Cost, Time & Resource estimates based on client supplied work scopes
  • Ensure design, analysis and specifications are in accordance with applicable codes, governing statutory regulations, Wood procedures, offshore installation specific design philosophies and meet project objectives and industry best practice
  • Operate in a multidiscipline environment to complete large scale projects for our clients
  • Adhering to all HSSES requirements within the Instrumentation and Controls discipline in accordance with Wood procedures and management systems
  • Travelling offshore as required for surveys and construction/commissioning support

Expected:
  • Currently authorized to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required
  • Engineering Degree registered (or eligible for registration) with the Professional Engineers & Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador
  • 0-2+ years of relevant experience
