Junior Health and Safety Consultant (Full-time)
Reporting to NORCAT's Chief Advisory Officer, the Junior Health and Safety Consultant will play a lead role in the development, implementation, and delivery of NORCAT's WSIB Health and Safety Excellence Program (HSEp) to its members. This position is focused on helping organizations build and continuously improve their health and safety programs through the Excellence Program framework. The ideal candidate will combine technical knowledge in occupational health and safety with strong facilitation, program design, and client advisory skills
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the WSIB Health and Safety Excellence program (HSEp) for participating clients
Develop, implement and oversee the delivery of products and services for the WSIB HSEp
Provide education, advice and program support to client members on the development and implementation of health and safety programs as a WSIB HSEp Provider
Create resources, tools and presentation materials for client members to assist with successfully meeting the program requirements
Monitor and evaluate to ensure the program content is effectively and consistently delivered
Collaborate with WSIB consultants and partners and recommend marketing and recruitment strategies
Support other NORCAT Advisory projects as required, including the development of client-specific training content.
Experience, Qualifications and Requirements:
Two years as a technical writer, researcher or equivalent experience demonstrated by a portfolio of work
Post-secondary education in a relevant area of specialization (Occupational Health and Safety, Human Resources)
A Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST) is an asset
Experience working within the mining or construction industry in a health and safety capacity
Experience in developing health and safety manuals is an asset
Professionalism and demonstration of integrity and honesty while performing responsibilities
Excellent research, grammatical and written communication skills in English
Excellent relationship building, customer service, organizational and analytical skills
Particular attention to detail
Strong oral communication and presentation skills
Strong work ethic and time management skills/ability to work to deadlines with shifting priorities
Computer proficiency with Microsoft Word (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
Salary: $45,000 - $50,000 Annually depending on experience and skills.
