Your work environment at EXP

In this role, you will be a part of the Geotechnical team, based in Kingston, ON office. The successful applicant will be joining a diverse engineering group in Central Canada poised for growth and challenging opportunities well into the future.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

  • Conducts and coordinates a wide variety of geotechnical investigations.
  • Conducts construction QA/QC inspections.
  • Perform field testing of soil, asphalt and concrete.
  • Prepares and coordinates laboratory testing.
  • Prepare brief daily reports.
  • Prepares weekly progress reports and photographs.
  • Prepare/draft a geotechnical investigation report, under the supervision of senior engineers
What your experience looks like
  • Bachelor\'s degree in civil or geological/geotechnical engineering.
  • Must have 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role
  • Master\'s degree in geotechnical engineering, an asset.
  • Must be licensed by Professional Engineers of Ontario P.Eng.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Team player with proven ability to work independently or as a member of project teams.
  • Excellent organizing, interpersonal written and verbal communication skills.
  • Field experience with environmental investigation projects will be an asset.
  • Strong computer skills using work processing, spreadsheet, and graphics applications such as MS Word, Excel and AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge in working with geotechnical computer programs such as gINT.
  • Proficient problem solving skills.
  • Proven analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Strong report writing skills.
  • Must possess valid driver\'s license and a reliable vehicle to travel to job sites.
  • Ability to work in a variety of work environment including office, soil laboratory and on the field
