Junior Estimator

About the Company

Established in 1967, Floortrends Ltd. is a successful family owned and operated flooring company with 5 locations in Southeastern Ontario. We provide flooring solutions for residential homes, new home builders, apartments and condos, retail stores, medical facilities, hotels, schools, manufacturing facilities, and insurance claims. We have grown from a single store operation and are looking to continue that growth with the right candidate.

About the Position

This is an entry level position that includes elements of warehousing, sales, and project management that will see you working in the office, in the showroom, in the warehouse, and on jobsites.

Floortrends offers a commission reward structure for sales in addition to a competitive compensation and benefits package. Experience in flooring and/or the construction industry is an asset however it's not required.

Duties:

Support the Floortrends team and warehouse crew as necessary, including but not limited to verification of materials, receiving materials into inventory system, staging jobs, delivering materials to job sites and other retail locations, and ordering of stock Perform light cleaning to keep staff common areas clean and presentable Organize and maintain the showroom including samples and pricing Work with the customers to determine their needs and recommend the right products for their project Develop and cultivate strong relationships with customers, coworkers, and suppliers Research company and supplier literature to stay up to date on product features Complete daily invoicing and sales reporting Schedule and draft job estimates Perform physical site measurements and/or computer take-offs to obtain quantities Assist Sr. Estimators serving clients Other duties as assigned

Qualities & Skills:

Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills Strong math skill including understanding metric and imperial measurements Strong problem solving, decision making, and critical thinking Strong communication and computer skills Ability to learn industry specific computer programs Work under pressure in a fast-paced environment Work with minimal supervision and with others Ability to distinguish between colours Significant use of memory Continuous self-directed learning Math skills including understanding imperial units of measurement (feet & inches)

Requirements:

Completion of high school Some college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training Valid Class G driver's license Bondable, basic security clearance & criminal record check Hard hat & steel toed safety boots

Pay:

$25.00/hr
