We provide hydro-excavation, pipeline flushing, CCTV inspections, data collection, and mapping services to municipalities, contractors, and engineering firms throughout Western Canada and the Northwest Territories.
We're currently looking for a
Junior Equipment Operator
to join our skilled team. This role is ideal for someone eager to learn and gain hands-on experience operating specialized equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Learn to operate a variety of equipment, including:
- Combination flusher/vac
- Straight flusher
- Traffic Control Unit
- Water hauling
- Hydro-excavation unit
Assist intermediate and senior operators/inspectors as needed
Maintain a professional and collaborative attitude with team members and clients
Set up and manage traffic control, barricades, and signage at job sites
Water hauling, single axle.
Ensure safe working conditions and perform minor maintenance on equipment
Conduct site assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards
Complete documentation, such as:
Pre/post-trip inspections
Daily job reports
FLHAs (Field Level Hazard Assessments)
Time tracking and entries into Cam-Trac's MARS program
Read and interpret maps, drawings, and blueprints
Be available for possible out-of-town projects
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Strong attention to detail and adaptability to changing conditions
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Comfortable using technology "apps" (e.g., tablets, smartphones, software)
Valid Class 5 driver's license (driver's abstract required)
Reliable personal transportation
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications (Assets)
Valid Class 3 license with Q Air Brake Endorsement
Experience operating a combination flusher/vac and hydro-excavation equipment
Mechanical aptitude for minor troubleshooting and repairs
Valid safety training certifications (please include in application)
1 year of experience working with industrial equipment
Willingness to travel (approx. 50%)
