We are seeking an applicant to join our

Wind Effects - Bridges Team

as a

Junior Engineer

in our

Guelph,

ON office.

Key Responsibilities





Pre-test work - coordinating with Model Shop and Wind Tunnel. Monitor the construction of models, ensuring adherence to timelines and an efficient flow. Conduct and manage data collection activities. Collaborate with senior technical experts who conduct analysis and consult on the aerodynamics and wind response of long and flexible aeroelastic structures (e.g., long-span bridges and solar arrays). Potentially perform wind loading analysis. Plan and coordinate all technical aspects of assigned projects including wind tunnel model design and design of experiments. Provide support for the preparation of proposals and marketing material; Work under the general supervision of senior staff.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise





A

Bachelor's

degree in Structural or Mechanical Engineering or other post secondary technical education.

Comfortable with scientific computing/data science (e.g. Python, Matlab) and LaTex.

Knowledge of the design of structures and/or knowledge and application of wind sections of building codes (i.e., AASHTO LRFD, CSA S6, EN 1991-1-4, NBCC, ASCE 7). Must have hands on experience and skills. An aptitude for practical problem solving and proven ability to successfully meet deadlines.
