The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Junior Drafting Technician to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with a background in architectural or civil drafting who is eager to grow in the window, door, and facade industry.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed structural design drawings for residential projects, ensuring all deliverables meet project specifications and timelines

Verify final frame and glass sizes, and assess the constructability of windows and doors

Collaborate with the Production and Projects Teams to review designs, address drawing-related issues, and communicate project status

Interpret and apply relevant codes, standards, and company policies

Identify and raise design or coordination issues, providing suggestions for resolution

Requirements

1-2 years of drafting and detailing experience, with strong proficiency in AutoCAD

Diploma in Architectural Technology or Civil Engineering Technology

Knowledge of window, door, and curtain wall systems (considered an asset)

Solid understanding of windows, doors, curtain wall, and railing systems

Effective technical and mathematical skills with strong attention to detail

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Experience with Adobe PDF Editor (considered an asset)

Familiarity with Orgadata/Logikal window and door software (considered an asset)
