Job Description

Purpose of Position:

The Junior Design Consultant is responsible for assisting Senior Design Consultants, and the Account Managers within the Builder Sales team with the quoting process of residential cabinetry, countertops and accessories, including the designs and order submissions.

Are you passionate about interior design and ready to start a career in kitchen design and sales? Superior Cabinets, a leader in kitchen and bath solutions, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Design Consultant to join our growing team. This is an entry level position with many growth opportunities within Superior Cabinets but is geared towards transitioning into an Account Manager or Senior Design Consultant role. This is a unique opportunity to learn on the job and develop the valuable Design and Sales skills necessary in the Kitchen and Bath industry.


Key Position Responsibilities:

Assisting Account Managers with kitchen layouts and space planning. Learn how to use design software (e.g. 2020 Design). Learn how to balance forms, functionality, and budgets. Support with product selections (door styles and finishes, as well as countertops and accessories). Gain hands-on experience in creating layouts, quotes, processing orders, and managing timelines. Interact with clients to gather the necessary information to design the kitchen of their dreams while providing them with excellent customer service. Learn the basics of sales and client relationships.


Key Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, listening) Ability to work individually as well as collaboratively with a team Displays accuracy and attention to details in their work Ability to work under pressure and deal with and meet multiple deadlines Ability to meet with clients individually and work through the design / sales experience (front-to-back) Knowledge in 2020 Kitchen Design software is an asset


Additional Requirements:

Diploma in Interior Design Technology will be considered an asset Additional education in construction/trades will also be considered an asset
