General Description
Junior Cost Accountant is responsible to assist in analyzing and controlling costs, preparing cost reports, and supporting budgeting and forecasting activities.
Duties/Responsibilities
Collect and analyze cost data to support customer's quoting process.
Prepare cost estimates, and pricing for new product, and maintain accurate and up to date quotes for existing products.
Help maintain accurate records of inventory valuation, overhead allocation, and production costs.
Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
Assist in variance analysis (actual vs. standard costs) and investigate discrepancies.
Work closely with operations and procurement to ensure cost accuracy and efficiency.
Prepare cost-related reports and documentation for internal use and audits.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance cost control and reporting.
Other finance duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in accounting or finance - Mandatory
Understanding of accounting principles and cost accounting concepts.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems
Strong analytical and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
