  • Location: Hamilton, ON
  • Pay: $45,000 - $55,000 per annum, depending on experience
  • Benefits after completing probation

Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Construction Superintendent with all construction activities.
  • Update the Project Manager if timelines and schedules are not going to be met and suggest a realistic timeline.
  • Oversee employee time sheets and track deficiencies.
  • Assist with direction for all field personnel to complete the project on schedule, within budget, and with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications.
  • Work with clients closely on deficiency lists giving them accurate timelines and appropriate updates if situations change.
  • Help maintain construction schedule, identify problems, and provide solutions.
  • Assist with ordering materials and schedule inspections as necessary throughout the process.
  • Ensures compliance of development, architectural, and engineering plans and specifications.
  • Assist in the preparation and filing of contractor\xe2\x80\x99s paperwork.
  • Ensure purchase orders are promptly processed.
  • Use Field Time software and update tasks and confirm hours for field employees.
  • Maintain constant quality control inspection on all job phases as directed by the Construction Superintendent
  • Complete job measurements for the worksite and confirm with the client in a timely manner.
  • Keep Construction Superintendents informed of subcontractor personnel, the amount of work accomplished, and whether the subcontractor is on schedule.
  • Manage Field employees for short periods if the Construction Superintendent is absent.
  • Handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while remaining calm and positive.
  • Check for safety violations of all job site workers daily.
  • Help maintain the materials and equipment that are assigned to the job site.
  • Be familiar with the OLC and other mandatory health and safety regulations.
  • Communication with clients is important. Discuss any questions or concerns that clients have as well as provide updates and walkthroughs when requested.
  • Meet with clients as required; This included onsite as well as off-site meetings (cater to the customer\'s needs).
  • Ensure communications in all formats are being responded to and sent with the utmost respect and professionalism and in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
Qualifications and/or Educational Requirements:
  • 2 or more years of experience in the Construction industry.
  • A College Diploma or Degree with a concentration in Construction Management is preferred.
  • Industry experience managing field employees.
  • Experience in scheduling, ordering, field supervision, quality control, and job safety work habits.
  • Experience in managing multiple projects and construction workers.
  • First-aid training is necessary.
  • Valid Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License with clean Driver\xe2\x80\x99s Abstract.
