Job Description

We are seeking a Junior Place-Finish Concrete Takeoff Technician to support our estimating department.

This role focuses exclusively on performing accurate takeoffs and is ideal for someone who is detail oriented, technical, highly organized and methodical to ensure quantity takeoffs are accurate, complete and easy to follow for the estimating team.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform accurate drawing takeoffs, including depths, volumes, slab thicknesses, and specification-based quantities

Review and interpret construction drawings, details, and project specifications

Complete quantity & volume measurements, layovers for interior slabs, exterior flatwork, footings and walls using Bluebeam Software

Deliver precise and timely takeoffs using Excel Formatted Takeoff Templates for tender closings under tight deadlines

Maintain exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

Work closely with estimators to provide complete and organized quantity takeoff packages

Requirements:

Previous construction takeoff experience (any discipline; concrete experience is an asset)

Strong working experience with Bluebeam (mandatory)

Solid proficiency in Microsoft Excel (mandatory)

Must be fluent in English (written & spoken)

Ability to accurately read and interpret construction plans and specifications

General construction knowledge

Excellent time management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines

High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills (mandatory)

Additional Skills (But Not Required):

Experience specifically in place/finish concrete estimating & quantity takeoffs

Knowledge of interior & exterior concrete materials, prepping, and finishing methods

Familiarity with concrete pumping requirements, setup logistics, and volume planning
