Job Description

This role is catered to youth aged 15-21 who have or are attending programming and are looking for more responsibility. The Junior Community Mentor (Junior CM) is responsible for assisting in after school programming under the direction of the Child and Youth Worker Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS



Working towards or have obtained an OSSD. 15 to 21 years of age. Preference will be given to Community/Band Members of WFN. Ability to work with youth. Willing to attend three (3) Right to Play virtual training sessions Willing to complete a learning plan and evaluation to outline employment interests, learning style and development goals.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES



Assist in program design, planning, and preparation. Assist in facilitating activities during programming. Assist with supervising youth to ensure a culturally safe environment. Assist in supporting the planning and implementation of events and initiatives. Assist with program supply shopping, when possible. Recruit children and youth to attend programming.

WORKING CONDITIONS



Work is performed indoors and outdoors based on program plans. Ability to lift to 25lbs. Travel may be required.
