Westland Insurance Group Ltd has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Commercial Underwriter in Surrey, BC. located at our head office. This role will be responsible for representing Westland Insurance Group Ltd. and collecting information from reputable sources to evaluate and manage degrees of risk involved with an insurance policy.

As a Junior Commercial Underwriter, you\'ll make a big impact in how we organize and administer our underwriting policies and procedures. You\'ll share your underwriting expertise by guiding and coaching teams to support our clients and expand our business across Canada..

Strong background in underwriting principles with a willingness to learn more
Motivated to succeed and grow a book of business along with a minimum of one year experience in commercial underwriting
Bonus! Working towards or completion of CIP/FCIP/CRM designations

Uncover challenges and analyize the risks in the underwriting process
Manage the efficient flow of underwriting documentation, prepare quotes and determine eligibility for policy renewals
Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and insurance partners by providing exceptional customer service
Be an efficient teammate and flexible in adjusting to changing work priorities
