Junior Civil Engineer-in-Training

Your role within the team:

As a member of the Newfoundland office's civil/municipal infrastructure team, you will :

Comply with corporate policies and safety protocols; Identification of general safety, and HSE requirements; Interpreting engineering specifications, resolving design and field engineering difficulties and coordinating work schedules; Ensuring design work interfaces will with that of other disciplines; Coordination and interaction with drafting in the preparation of design drawings; Coordination and preparation of project specifications; Contributing to the planning and scheduling of work to achieve prescribed objectives; Preparing progress reports and monitoring project controls; Recommending changes in plans and specifying estimated costs; Recommending substitutions in materials and payment for complete work; Consulting with other departments, suppliers and contractors to clarify specifications; Keeping informed of new technical developments and estimating their impacts; Project specific roles to be determined by Project Manager.

The ideal candidate:

Recent graduate with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering. 0 to 2 years of relevant experience. Eligible or registered as an Engineer-in-Training. Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle. Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit and MS Office is an asset. Willingness and aptitude for learning in a fast-paced work environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Strong written and verbal skills, knowledge of French is an asset.
