Your Opportunity

Due to our expanding business, our British Columbia's Transportation Group is seeking an experienced and talented Junior Bridge Design Engineer with strong interest in design and analysis to join our team and work alongside engineering professionals who provide specialized engineering services in the bridge, road/highway, and transit sub-sectors. This position is primarily a design/analysis role with some field responsibilities.

Your Key responsibilities :

Preparing basic structural design calculations in accordance with applicable design codes (i.e., CAN-S6:19) for designs of new bridges, retaining walls, and other transportation structures.

Performing structural analysis and designs for the renewal of existing structures.

Assisting with conceptual design alternatives to develop innovative and cost-effective design solutions.

Assisting with development of technical specifications and BC MoTI Special Provisions.

Providing guidance to CAD designers for drawing production.

Assisting with preparation of cost estimates for concept and detailed design.

Providing engineering services during construction including review of tender and contractor submissions, responding to requests for information, assisting with Engineer's Field Reviews.

Assisting with preparing proposals, workplans, and fee estimates.

Regular collaboration with colleagues in other offices and different areas of expertise in an integrated and fast paced design environment.

Assisting on structural inspections.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Basic design experience in steel, reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete and timber structures,

Recent experience using specialized software such as, SAP2000, LARSA, SOFISTIK, or CSiBridge; working knowledge of AutoCAD, and

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required in your interactions with the design team and effective writing skills for reports and some proposal work.

Education and Experience

As the ideal candidate you will possess the following minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering,

Registered or eligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training in BC
