As a member of the Community Services Department reporting to the Aquatics Coordinator, Junior Aquatic Staff are responsible for assisting aquatic staff with the daily operations of the pool facility during swimming lessons, public swims and special events.DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for the safety and supervision of the participants and ensure the rules and regulations set out by the Department and/or outside organizations are followed.
• Must be knowledgeable of City Programs and have strong public relation skills.
• Assist with the completion required forms (i.e. Injury report forms, cleaning logs, green card forms, etc.).
• Attend all Aquatic Staff Training and meetings as scheduled.
• Educate the public about safety rules and admission standards/ratios.
• Assist with routine change room inspections.
• Assist with maintaining a clean and tidy facility as required.
• Assist with special events, programs, and various user groups.
• Assist with performing swim tests and handing out wristbands as outlined in our admission policy.
• Keep physically fit, alert, and ready to assist in any emergency.
• Assist with pool supervision and pool tests as required.
• Perform other related duties as required by the Recreation, Culture & Community Services Department.

• Minimum of fifteen (15) years of age.
• Must be at minimum enrolled in high school.
• Current Standard First Aid and CPR \'C\' Certification from a WSIB recognized organization.
• Must hold a valid Lifesaving Society Bronze Cross Certification
• Previous customer service experience is an asset
