We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated
Junior Accountant
to join our growing finance team. This role offers exposure to all aspects of accounting within the construction industry and is ideal for someone eager to advance their career while contributing to the success of our projects.
Key Responsibilities
As a Junior Accountant, you will support the accounting team with daily operations and monthly processes, including:
Accounts Payable (AP):
Process vendor invoices, ensure proper coding, and reconcile statements.
Accounts Receivable (AR):
Prepare client invoices, monitor collections, and track payments.
Bank & Credit Card Reconciliations:
Complete monthly reconciliations for company bank accounts and corporate Visa transactions.
Month-End Close:
Assist with journal entries, accruals, and financial reporting to ensure timely month-end close.
Construction Project Close-Outs:
Support project managers with financial reconciliations and ensure accurate capture of project costs.
Expense Processing:
Review employee expense reports for accuracy, compliance, and timely reimbursement.
Qualifications
Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA designation in progress is an asset).
1-2 years of accounting experience, preferably in construction or a project-based industry.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, or similar) is an asset.
High attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
