Our nursing home (your new home?) is a 100-bed person-centered care home located in Sussex, New Brunswick. You will be joining approximately 100 other caring and amazing staff members who interact daily with our residents and their families. Responsibilities
Reporting to the Comptroller, the Junior Accountant's role is to support the accounting operations of the nursing home to ensure it operates smoothly and efficiently.
  • Leading the accounts payable process and all related tasks including packing slips and purchase order matching, invoice processing, electronic and manual payment processing, and organization of documents.
  • Assisting with the accounts receivable process including invoicing, recording of receipts, and preparation of monthly reporting.
  • Prepare and post bank deposits, and other banking as required for multiple accounts.
  • Record and maintain accurate financial data through general ledger entries.
  • Payroll assistance, and will gain exposure to the particulars of the employee pension plan and the employee benefits plan.
  • Assist with intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
  • Generating trust reports and preparation of year end tax receipts.
  • Credit card reconciliations and employee expense report processing.
  • Assisting with annual audit.
  • Prepare or assist with analysis and reconciliation of various accounts as required.
  • Teamwork with other employees and departments.
  • Other administrative tasks assigned by the leadership team.

  • Proficient with Office 365.
  • Experience with accounting software. Experience with Quickbooks is considered an asset.
  • Payroll experience is considered an asset.
  • Excellent communication and a positive proactive approach to completing tasks.

  • Must be able to obtain clearance for Social Development and Vulnerable Sector checks.
What we can offer you: An annual salary of up to $45,000, pension, group benefits (Kiwanis covers your full health and dental premiums), a wellness program, standard working hours from 8AM - 4PM, and treats in the office on a regular basis.
