Position Summary
FourQuest, a leading international oil and gas services company, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This entry-level role is designed as a feeder position to support the Director of Corporate Accounting with critical administrative and financial tasks, while providing exposure to various accounting functions across our global operations (see our locations: https://www.fourquest.com/contact-us/). The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience with our processes, banking operations, and financial statement preparation, preparing them for future opportunities within the organization, such as Payroll Administrator, Operations Accountant, or Senior Accountant. This role is ideal for an ambitious individual pursuing their CPA designation and eager to grow within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative Support: Assist the Director of Corporate Accounting with HR administration, including data reconciliation and record maintenance.
Financial Process Support: Learn and support accounting processes, including data entry, invoice processing, and basic account reconciliation.
Banking Support: Setting up bank accounts, creating payments, and monitoring cashflow.
Financial Statements: Assist in the preparation of financial statement.
Project Involvement: Contribute to special projects, which may include insurance renewals, system implementations, or other financial initiatives as assigned.
Cross-Functional Exposure: Collaborate with operational and financial teams to gain a comprehensive understanding of FourQuest's accounting processes, preparing for potential transitions into roles such as Payroll Administrator, Operations Accountant, or Bookkeeper.
Qualifications:
4-year degree from an accredited college or university preferred; 2-year diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution accepted.
Actively pursuing a CPA designation (enrolled).
1-2 years of accounting or administrative experience is an asset but not required.
Experience in the oil and gas industry is beneficial but not mandatory.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required; experience with Sage 50 is an asset.
Strong proficiency in English, both written and spoken, to ensure clear and effective communication with team members and stakeholders.
