We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled

Relief Pharmacist

to provide exceptional coverage to our

SDM

pharmacy. The successful candidate will ensure the safe and effective dispensing of medications while maintaining a professional, efficient pharmacy environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Accurately dispense prescriptions and medications in accordance with physician orders and patient medical history. Deliver comprehensive patient counseling regarding medication usage, potential side effects, and proper storage. Maintain appropriate medication storage practices and manage inventory to ensure optimal stock levels. Conduct thorough reviews of prescription orders for legality, safety, and therapeutic appropriateness. Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve medication-related inquiries or concerns. Process and verify insurance claims for prescription medications. Ensure strict compliance with all provincial and federal pharmacy regulations. Maintain precise records of all dispensed prescriptions. Work collaboratively with pharmacy team members and healthcare professionals to enhance patient care. Uphold cleanliness and organization in the work environment, following all safety and hygiene protocols. Assist in managing pharmacy workflow and staffing during peak periods. Provide leadership and guidance to pharmacy technicians and support staff as needed.

Qualifications:

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution. Valid and active pharmacist license in Ontario. In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical practices, laws, and regulations. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Exceptional attention to detail with strong multitasking capabilities. Prior pharmacy experience preferred.

Proficiency with HealthWatch software required.
