JS 291 - Professional Communication and Writing



This course explores professional communication and writing practices in a justice context. Case study examples will be used to instruct students on various communication strategies. Students will develop their professional writing and reporting competencies within a justice framework. The successful candidate will require a broad knowledge and background in subject matter and preference will be given to applicants with past teaching experience in this field.
Position Requirements
The successful candidate must:

hold a MA or PhD in field or equivalent discipline; PhD is preferred; a record of effective teaching at the post-secondary level; have experience managing classroom and online technologies used by the University of Regina (including UR Courses [Moodle])


Physical Demands Pay Grade Faculty Sessional Salary Range Per URFA Collective Agreement Status Term Work Hours
The instructor will deliver the course on campus face-to-face on Tuesdays 7:00-9:45pm. Instructors are expected to have one office hour per week.
Course Modality Remote - Synchronous Course Dates and Time Tuesdays - 1900-2145 Duration (if Term/Temporary) January 1, 2026 - April 30, 2026. Sessional Lecturers may have preparatory work to do before the start date and sometimes may have to deal with grading tasks after the termination date.
